Warning Signs

There are a few key warning signs to be aware of that could indicate your septic tank or the system need repairs. The first and most obvious one would be noticing black sewage on the ground around the system or in the leach field. The leach field normally and naturally filters the liquid waste that is flown into it, so having the black sewage and wet/mushy grass over the field is a bad sign.


If you were inside, another warning sign could be having a backed-up system. So, if you are trying to flush something or dispose of something through the sink and it doesn't flush or go down then there could be a problem further along the line.
